Project #2
I found that the second project was much better than the first project. I say this because I liked how we had to analyze an organization (popular or not), and then use what we have been learning and apply it to real life. I thought it was interesting how each site had at least a fallacy or some type of reasoning being used on the site. It is funny how sites use these tools willingly and acknowledgeable. Also it was interesting to see how each type of technique was used by each company. Many companies seemed to use pathos (the emotional appeal) to draw in their audiences. Also it was interesting to see that the companies used these things in their own documents (which some were sent into the government). All in all I enjoyed doing this research project more than the first one because of the reasons mentioned above.

Yep, I agree with you as well because I think I also wrote about project number two, for the same reasons too, I think. I'm not really sure. But I think that I thought it was interesting how social organizations use appeals to emotion like all the time in their advertising and stuff, probably because they know people will fall for that kind of stuff when they see it on TV or wherever. I think I also wrote about how critical thinking of organizations could be applied back into the real world or whatever. In fact, I think I'm going to go read back on what it is I wrote.
ReplyDeleteI also found the second project much more useful then the first project. I too like to study the organization and find the different concepts we had been learning about. What I found most interesting and useful was how the advertisements these organizations use are playing on our appeals to emotion. After learning about these appeals to emotion I am not more aware of the ads I am submitted to and more competently analyze them through all the concepts we have learned before I decide my feelings about the issue. I too liked the second project and found it interesting to learn about all the concepts we have learned and how they pertain to real life.
